Meet O’Neill Williams
“If you’re too busy to go fishing,
you’re too busy!” This is the mantra
of outdoor enthusiast, radio talk show host
and TV host of “O’Neill Outside”,
O’Neill Williams. An Atlanta native,
this broadcast veteran is more than your average
fishing aficionado. He’s an all-star
athlete, husband of more than 40 years, and
voice to 80,000,000 households with a weekly
audience of 750,000 outdoorsmen and women.
Host for more than 25 seasons, O’Neill
has seen more than a few changes to the television
show that now bears his name. It began as “The
Metro-Channel Sports Fishing Report”,
a Thursday night 15-minute interview program
on local Atlanta cable. The show expanded and
changed from “Fishing in Georgia”,
to “Southern Fishing”, “Reel
Adventures”, “Adventures Afield” and
finally, “O’Neill Outside”.
The program is on OLN, FSN-South and Sun Sports
networks 52 weeks a year, so you’re sure
to run across O’Neill in your channel
surfing for anything outdoors.
Not to mention, “O’Neill Outside” is
also on the air – radio air that is – from
4 AM to 6 AM Saturday mornings on Atlanta’s
WSB radio and can be heard over the airwaves
in 38 southern and east coast States. The weekly
audience for the 12-year program is over 400,000.
It’s obvious that when O’Neill
talks outdoors, people listen.
